Two pedestrians struck in roadway south of Kingston

MARSHALL COUNTY – Two people were struck by a car on Wednesday evening in a roadway south of Kingston.

Shane Wavada, 30, of Kingston was driving a 1999 Buick Century on Snell Road approximately 7 miles south of Kingston at about 7:48 p.m., according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Shylie Boatwright, 18, of Kingston, and Cody McCoy, 28, of Hermitage, Ark., were walking eastbound in the roadway on Snell Road. Wavada said he did not see the pedestrians in the roadway, according to the report, and his vehicle struck the two while walking.

Boatwright was transported from the scene by Air Evac to Medical City Denton in Denton, Texas. She was treated and released with head and leg injuries. McVay was transported from scene by Air Evac to Medical City McKinney in McKinney, Texas and admitted in stable condition with head, trunk external and trunk internal injuries.

The OHP was assisted in the investigation by the Marshall County Sherriff’s Office, Marshall County EMS, Enos Fire Department.
