Savina Mae Harner (Buckaloo) was born June 5, 1959 in Lubbock, Texas to Wally Joe Buckaloo and Evelyn Birdie Buckaloo (Cooper). She passed from this life on Sunday, June 4, 2023 in Madill, Okla., one day before her 64th birthday.
“Grasshopper”, as she was known by everyone who knew her, grew up in Kingston. She has lived in Marshall County most of her life with exception of a few years in Dallas. Savina married Ronald Lee Harner on February 2, 1976 in Kingston. He preceded her in death on May 8th, 2009. “Grasshopper” was employed at the Family Care Center in Kingston as a Certified Nursing Assistant and as a LPN in the Home Health field for a total of seventeen years. Savina had a passion to take care of people when she didn’t take care of herself. Her family would tell you that she was a spit-fire and always spoke her mind, and said she loved to aggravate people or make people laugh. “Grasshopper” enjoyed loving on the grandkids and great grandkids. She also loved to dance and sing. She was a member of New Beginnings Church.
Savina was also preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Ethan Barthel; and other relatives….
She is survived by her daughters, Ronda Barthel and her husband, Buddy Deal of Madill, Okla., and Savina Stephens and her husband, Jimmy Don of Kingston, Okla.; brothers, Stanley Buckaloo of Oklahoma City, and Joe Buckaloo and his wife, Onie of Kingston; grandkids and great-grandkids, Angel Oliphant and husband, Steven, and their kids Peyton and Brantley, Jamie Stephens and husband, Chris Bahr, and her kids Breken and Kaiden, Autumn Jones and husband, Dylan, and their kids Trey, Aubrey, and Bryson, Monica Parsons and husband, Bo, and their kids Rylee, Jace, and Jimmy, Brianna Stephens, Faith Stephens, Elizabeth Barthel and husband, Austin, and their kids Victoria and Starlit, Andrew Barthel, Emily Barthel, and Allie Barthel; and many extended family members and close friends.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at New Beginnings Church with Pastor Don Williams officiating. Interment services will follow at Powell Cemetery with Buddy Deal, Jimmy Don Stephens, Steven Oliphant, Dylan Jones, Austin Medsker, Andrew Barthel, and Kowboy Martin serving as casket bearers.
