Sammy Ray Knight Sr. was born Monday, April 19, 1954 in Pauls Valley, Okla. to Richard Allen Knight and Marie Harris (Clark) and stepfather John Clark. He went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 5, 2021 from his home at the age of 67.
Sam was raised in Oklahoma City until he moved to Kingston in 1979. He worked as a metal cutter at J & I Manufacturing in Madill until his retirement due to his health.
Sam met the love of his life, Sandra Marris, and they married on July 3, 2003. He loved to play golf, watching OU football, and liked spending time with his family. Sam was full of life and laughter, and enjoyed being around his friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother Alan, and a granddaughter.
Sam is survived by his wife, Sandra, of the home; sister, Tammy Phillips and husband Todd of Mulhall, Okla.; sons, Sammy Jr. of Durant, Okla. and Donnie of Kingston, Okla.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; aunts, Mary Ann Turner and Ruth Harmon; uncle, Charles Harris and wife Betty; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 9, at Brown’s Funeral Home chapel in Durant.
