Ruth Ann McKinney

Ruth Ann McKinney went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, Jan. 17, 2022 in Denison, Texas. Ruth was born on September 14, 1949, in Madill, Okla. to Charles and Ardessa (Fitzgerald) Hastings.

She attended Madill schools. Ruth married L.V. McKinney, Sr. on May 28, 1966, in Ada, Okla. Later the couple moved to San Bernardino, California before making their final home in Madill, Okla.

Ruth worked at the Ardmore Veterans Center for many years before retiring. She enjoyed being with her family and friends and spoiling her grandkids. She also loved her time at the casino where she was known to make some big wins.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband and one son-in-law, Dominic Tubman.

Ruth is survived by her mother, Ardessa Hastings of Madill, Okla.; sister, Charlene Hastings of Madill, Okla.; brother, Charles Hastings of Madill, Okla. and brother, Sylvester Hastings of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three children: son, L.V. McKinney, Jr. and wife Sharon of Sherman, Texas; son, Gary McKinney of Madill, Okla., and daughter, Kimberly Tubman of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren: Whitney Thompson and husband Keiandre, Brandon McKinney and wife Randi, Shaquille Tubman, Jessica McKinney and Cincere Jordan; five great-grandchildren: Khalid Trotter, Raegan McKinney, Rilyn McKinney, Marleigh Self, Khalia Tubman; one great-grandchild on the way, Mia Thompson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Casket bearers will be L.V. McKinney, Jr., Patrick Hastings, Keiandre Thompson, Brandon McKinney, Shaquille Tubman and Keyuna Hastings.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 24, 2022 at Brown’s Funeral Home with Reverend Sam Huff officiating. Interment to follow at Oakland-Madill Cemetery.

Arrangements under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Home.
