Peyton Hibdon Minter, 88, of Madill, Okla. passed away on Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021 at the Brookside Nursing Center in Madill. He was born on March 13, 1933 in Isom Springs, Okla. to the late Paul Collis Minter and Ethel Lee Hibdon Minter.

Peyton was raised in Kingston where he attended Kingston Schools graduating in 1951. He joined the United States Army serving during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955.

Peyton married Mary Beth Cassell on December 23, 1955 in Little City, Okla. In 1955, they moved to Texas living in Sherman, Dallas, and Irving before moving back to Oklahoma. While living in Texas, he worked as an engineer for Texas Utilities for 38 years. He lived on Lake Texoma and later moved to Madill in 1998 where he lived the rest of his life. He was a very active member of the First Baptist Church in Madill and he enjoyed doing title research and refurbishing old items.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth Minter of Madill, Okla.; brother, Paul Minter and wife Carol of Sunset, Texas; nephews; Stephen Minter and wife Nicole, David Eppler and wife Tracy, Roger Eppler and wife Amy.

Peyton was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Jane Eppler; one brother, Jery Minter and one nephew, Michael Minter.

Visitation will be Monday, Oct. 18, 2021 at Watts Funeral Home of Madill, Okla. from 8:00 am-noon.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 18, 2021 at the Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill, Okla.  Randy Kendrix will officiate the service.  Music arranged by Billy Zang.

Interment will be at the Kingston Cemetery, Kingston, Okla.

Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Okla.
