Pamela Jean Ward, 64, of Madill, Okla., passed away on October 26, 2022, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. Pam was born on July 24, 1958, in Ardmore, Okla., to the late Charles Franklin Thomason and her living mother Peggy Ann Whisman-Bailey.
She grew up in Madill and graduated from MHS in 1976, later receiving an Associate’s degree from Murray State and a Bachelors degree from Southeastern. Pam worked at Lynn’s Burger Spot for 15 years before working at the Madill Hospital, SH Trailers, and the Lukin Manor Nursing Home. She started working for Murray State College in the financial aid and registrars’ office in the late 90s and remained there until her retirement in 2018. Pam married Larry Arthur Ward on July 4, 1989, in Madill. She was affiliated with the Open Range Cowboy Church. Pam enjoyed working in the yard with her grandkids, going to the lake, and visiting the beaches in Florida.
Pam is survived by her husband, Larry Ward of Madill, Okla.; children: Charles Sandefur and wife Anita of Madill, Okla., Summer Johnson and husband Matt of Madill, Okla.; grandchildren: Zachary Johnson and wife Makenzie of Edmond, Okla., Lane Moore of Madill, Okla., Kaylee Moore of Madill, Okla., Coby Sandefur of Madill, Okla., Colton Sandefur of Madill, Okla.; mother and stepfather, Peggy Ann Bailey and husband Bill of Madill, Okla.; sisters: Toby Zink and husband Robert of Madill, Okla., Carri Russell of Madill, Okla.; stepbrothers and sisters: Linda Woolmer and husband Patrick of Stovall, Okla., Patricia Knight and husband Jacob of Ardmore, Okla., William Bailey and wife Sharon of Garland, Okla., James Bailey and wife Danielle of Ardmore, Okla.
Pam was preceded in death by her father; a granddaughter, Kyrstin Brooke Sandefur; and grandparents: Alvin & Essie Whisman, and Mearl Thomason and Bessie Yow.
