Mary Margaret Watkins, 88, of Madill, Okla. passed away on Friday, Dec. 10, 2021 at the Alliance Hospital in Durant, Okla. She was born on March 8, 1933 in Franklin, Tenn. to late Lemuel Claude Brown and Robbie Elmore Brown.

Mary Margaret was raised in Franklin where she attended school.  In the early ’50s, she moved to Madill where she worked at the Madill Hospital as a nurse. She met and married Harold Gene “Doc” Watkins on May 21, 1955 in Madill and he preceded her in death on April 14, 2018.

In 1960, Doc and Mary Margaret started W.W. Trailer where they worked until his passing. She continued working at W.W. with her grandson Dustin Watkins by her side, her overseeing the cafeteria area which she loved.  Mary Margaret enjoyed cooking, gardening, shopping, and doing crafts. Her greatest love was spending time with family and traveling back to Franklin to see family.

She is survived by grandchildren: Dustin Watkins and wife Lindsi of Madill, Okla., Breann Watkins of Madill, Okla., Brandi Wheeler of Tulsa, Okla., Jacklyn Weeks and husband Justin of Dallas, Texas, Mara Watkins of Franklin, Tenn., Lelah Watkins of Tulsa, Okla., Elizabeth Watkins of Madill, Okla., H.G. Watkins of Madill, Okla.; great-grandchildren: Madison, Gage, Brylee, Duke, Draydin, Anna, Averi, Scottie, Mattie, Landon and Farrah; one great-great-grandchild, Addisyn Ruth; sister, Betty Cartwright of Cottontown, Tenn.

Mary Margaret was preceded in death by her husband; sons, Westley and Bryce Watkins; and brothers: Bobby, Ernest, James and Eldridge Brown.

Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 16, 2021 at Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Okla., from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with a family hour from 6- 7 p.m.

Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 2021 at Watts Memorial Chapel in Madill.  Doug Tyner will officiate the service.  Music arranged by Brissa Brown and Buddy Tyner.  Interment will be at the Woodberry-Forest Cemetery in Madill.

Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Okla.
