Mary Elaine Sewell (Campbell), 74, of Kingston, Oklahoma, passed from this life on July 9, 2025, at her home. She was born on February 15, 1951, in Norman, OK, to Theodore John (Ted) Campbell and Patsy Ruth Campbell (Hays).
Mary attended Millwood Elementary School, Harding Middle School, and John Marshall High School in Oklahoma City. She later attended Rose State College and the University of Oklahoma where she earned her bachelor’s degree in business. She married the love of her life, O’Flynn Sewell, on August 18, 1973, in Oklahoma City. She lived the vast majority of her adult life in Norman, Oklahoma, where she was involved with the local children, schools, and her community. Mary worked as an Education Administrator for most of her career.
She had a green thumb, and her beautiful garden and flowers were something to behold. She preferred to be outdoors at the lake, on the beach, on her gorgeous porch, or sitting in front of the windows at home when the weather was not favorable.
She and O’Flynn retired and permanently relocated to Lake Texoma where she decorated their home with flamingos, turtles, and hummingbirds. Her fur babies were spoiled, and no stray or wild animal went hungry on her watch. Many of her beloved pets were taken in from the lake house or in Norman and received a life to be envied. Mary never met a stranger and befriended everyone. She genuinely loved her friends and neighbors and will be remembered for her larger-than-life personality. She was fun-loving and more than a little ornery. You could always expect to hear outrageous stories and maybe have some of your most embarrassing memories shared any time she was around.
Mary is preceded in death by her father, Ted Campbell and spouse, Jo Anna; mother, Patsy Campbell, and brother, Scott Campbell.
She is survived by her husband, Oscar Flynn (O’Flynn) Sewell III of Kingston, Okla.; sister, Susie Thomas and spouse Mike; mother-in-law, Carmen Sewell of Houston, Texas; brother-in-law, Jay Sewell of Granbury, Texas; son, Bryan Sewell and spouse Angie of Bridge Creek, Okla.; son, Kyle Sewell and spouse Alliedra of Sand Springs, Okla.; grandchildren: Savannah Lovett and spouse Jonny of Durango, Colo., Desirae Beach and significant other Zane Baumann of Moore, Okla., Dylan Sewell and spouse Holly of Camp Pendleton, Calif., Aramaea Sewell of Sand Springs, Okla., Aloria Sewell of Sand Springs, Okla., and Arilyn Sewell of Sand Springs, Okla., and her many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
