Luis M. Delatorre, 76, of Madill, Okla., passed away on January 4, 2023, surrounded by friends and family. Luis was born to Patricio Delatorre and Carmen Manquero Delatorre, on January 20, 1946, in Coahuila, Mexico.

He was raised in Mexico on the family Zaragoza Ranch (referred in Mexico as El Rancho Zaragoza). He served in the Mexican Army before coming to America in 1970. Luis married the love of his life, Virgie Mae Turner on June 26, 1970, in Madill. She preceded him in death on August 18, 2019.

Over the years, he worked for WW Trailers, the Peanut Company, P&M Sales, Oklahoma Steel and Wire and Scott’s Pet Products before retiring in 2000. Luis attended the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Madill, and he enjoyed life and raising his family along slide the love of his life.

Luis held many titles in his life, but his favorite role was being a father. He was most proud of his true legacy – his children and their accomplishments. He loved nothing more than spending time with his adult children (Luis, Virgie Maria, and Innocenio). Luis (Senior) was always there for them, helping guide them through life’s endeavors.

Luis is survived by his children: Luis Virgil Delatorre and wife Navonia of Jacksonville, Fla., Maria Wilson and husband Tom of Frisco, Texas, Inno Delatorre of Madill, Okla.; grandchildren: Charles Byars, Luis Delatorre II, Myles Luis Delatorre, Santana Latrese Delatorre, Jessica Delatorre, Conner Wilson and Cooper Wilson; great-grandchildren: Cayden Delatorre, Mason Charles Byars and Willow Storm

Luis was preceded in death by his parents, wife and three brothers and four sisters.

Casket bearers incude Luis Virgil Delatorre, Luis Virgil Delatorre II, Myles Luis Delatorre, Inno Delatorre, Conner Brant Wilson, Cooper Blake Wilson.

A memorial service in his honor is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2023, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Madill.

Arrangements under the direction of Watts Funeral Home.
