Johnny Edward “Eddie” Cox, 72, of Madill, Okla.,  passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at the Woodview Home in Ardmore, Okla. He was born on May 29, 1950, in Ardmore to the late John. Henry Cox and Evelyn Wanda Orr Cox.

Eddie was raised and lived his entire life in Madill, graduating from Madill High School. He married Linda Jean Wellman on May 24, 1974, in Madill and she preceded him in death on June 8, 2022.

Eddie worked for the Lake Texoma Lodge before working for the City of Madill, retiring after 30-plus years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Madill, and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching dirt track racing.

Eddie is survived by his sons, Jason Cox of Madill, Okla., Brian Cox and Elissa of Madill, Okla.; grandchildren, Kaleb Cox and Hudson Cox; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his dog, Sparky.

Casket Bearers: Kaleb Cox, Ray Allen Hoedebeck, Andrew Adams, Jeremy Wellman, Adolfo Jeronimo and David Hoedebeck.

A memorial service in his honor was held on Friday, April 28, 2023.
