John Wayne Williams, 80, of Madill, Okla., passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023, at the Brookside Nursing Center in Madill. He was born on July 12, 1942, in Lone Elm, Okla., to the late Wayne Williams and Mary Edith Tyner Williams.
John was raised in McMillan where he attended school to the fourth grade. He graduated from Madill High School in 1960 before being drafted into the United States Army. John married Joraine Elvonne Mabrey on June 30, 1967, in Tulsa, Okla. In 1972, he went to work for Samedan Oil Corporation and retired in 1997. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, working with wood and loved his family.
John is survived by his wife, Jo Williams of Madill, Okla.; children, Jason Williams, Amy Farmer and husband Darren; grandchildren: Ethan Farmer, Rachel Griffin and husband Dylan, Leslie Wieck and husband Davis; great-grandchildren: Easton Wieck, Audrey Griffin and Ava Griffin; sisters: Susie Barrett, Doris Farris.
John was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bryan Williams.
Honorary Casket Bearers are J. A. Saxon, Wes Saxon, Lee Scott, Wayne Scott, Basil Savage, Basil Savage Jr., Tony Hawkins.
A graveside service is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday, May 5, 2023, at McMillan Cemetery.
