George William Freeman, 71, of Buncombe Creek, Okla. passed away on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022, at his home in Buncombe. He was born on Dec. 25, 1950 in Purcell, Okla. to the late H. B. Freeman and Ethel Lee Tiner Freeman.

G. W.  was raised in Blanchard, Okla., where he graduated high school in 1969. He later attended Murray State College in Tishomingo before moving to Norman, Okla. While living in Norman he worked for York and retired after 37 years of service. Then later worked for Rexam and retired after 15 years.

G. W. married Nita Kay Baker on August 3, 1985 in Blanchard and after retiring they moved to Buncombe Creek area in 2013. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, tinkering and fixing things. G. W. was a handy man to everyone and a caring, loving husband and father.

He is survived by wife, Nita Freeman of Buncombe Creek, Okla.; children: Dustin Freeman and wife Misty of Oklahoma City, Okla., Todd Wheeler and wife Jill of Norman, Okla., Kevin Wheeler and wife Jill of Lindale, Texas, Brad Wheeler and wife Dana of Norman, Okla., Natalie Langford and husband Billy of Blanchard, Okla., Marti Johnson and husband Chris of Lamont, Colo.; grandchildren: Bryce, Brittney, Brandon, Kennedy, Kameron Wheeler, Shelby Jones, Jaylee Love, Joey Walker, Kylie, Colby and Riley Langford and Brady Freeman; great-granddaughter, Leilani Bergstreser; sisters, Doris Gonzales and husband Fernando of Norman, Okla.,  Rebecca Roath and husband Dale of Dibble, Okla.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, at the Blanchard Cemetery in Blanchard, Okla.  Mike Hobbs will officiate the service.

Arrangements under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Okla.
