Gary Edward Burton, 62, of Little City, Okla., passed away on Thursday, Nov. 25, 2021, in Dallas, Texas. He was born on February 22, 1959, in Kermit, Texas to late Buford Edward Burton and Juanita Darlene Andrews Burton.
Gary was raised in Texas and Oklahoma and graduated from Madill High School in 1977. He went to welding school in Lawton, Okla. and then began his career as a welder working all over the country, but always calling Little City his home.
In 1976, Gary married Patricia Rowe and had two daughters, Micki and Angie. In 1981, he married Susan Latham and had a third daughter, Gerica. In 2002, he married Sharon Blood and gained a son, Wesley. Sharon preceded him in death on Oct. 13, 2016. He was a member of the Little City Baptist Church and enjoyed playing the guitar, working on hot rods and hunting and fishing. But his greatest joy was his children, grandchildren and the upcoming birth of his first great-grandchild due on his birthday.
He is survived by children: Micki Tyner of Madill, Okla., Angie Wright and husband Shannon of Madill, Okla., Gerica Harris and husband Rodney of Denison, Texas, Wesley Blood and wife Alicia of Kingston, Okla.; life partner, Patricia Moore of Madill, Okla.; grandchildren: Macey Morris, Malarie Browder, Jadie Tyner, Addika Wright, Kye Wright, Jayde Harris, Jordan Burton, Noah Blood, Coco Blood; brother, Terry Burton and wife Tina of Madill, Okla.; sisters, Gaye Lynn McGrath and husband Steve of Springfield, Mo., Dana Carl and husband Cary of Largo, Fla.; best friend, Gizmo (Mo) Burton.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021, at the Cumberland Cemetery, Cumberland, Oklahoma. Cecil Mackey will officiate the service. Music arranged by Amanda Phipps.
