Eugene Christopher, 84, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, at his daughter’s home in Sand Springs, Okla. He was born on November 2, 1937, in Russett, Okla. to the late George D. Christopher and Josie F. Hale Christopher.

He was raised in Marshall County and attended Madill Public Schools. Eugene worked at the Madill Fire Department and retired as Chief after 20 years of service. He retired a second time after working for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.

Eugene was a Madill resident until 2017 when he relocated to northeast Oklahoma to be closer to family. He could be seen many mornings at McDonald’s enjoying coffee with his friends and could also often be found in the kitchen cooking a big pot of stew. Eugene enjoyed camping, fishing and playing dominos.

He is survived by his daughter, Emily Lau and husband Abel of Sand Springs, Okla.; grandchildren: Aaron Hill of Tulsa, Okla., Meagan Hill of Sand Springs, Okla., and Hannah Hill of Bartlesville, Okla.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Wilma Christopher Rennison.

Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022, at Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Okla. from 12-8 p.m. with a family hour from 4-6 p.m.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Monday, Feb. 7, 2022 at the Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill, Okla. Interment will be at the Woodberry-Forest Cemetery, Madill, Okla. Casket bearers will be Aaron Hill, Charles David Evans, Eddie Hargis, Keith Ryals, Russ Buysman, Wayne Newman, and Randy Hargis.

Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Oklahoma.
