Dallas Wayne Scribner, 80, of Kingston, Okla., passed away on November 18, 2021 at the Texoma
Medical Center in Denison, Texas. He was born on June 6, 1941 in Powell, Okla. to the late Vernon
Dallas Scribner and Bobbie Colleen Gwartney Scribner.
He was raised in Powell where he attended school and later graduated at Madill High School in 1959. Wayne married Violet Yvonne Waggoner on June 22, 1958 in Powell. He worked as a carpenter until his accident, then in 1964 he owned and operated Wayne Scribner Real Estate and insurance Agency working until he retired in 1991.
Wayne was very active in his community developing Dallas Acres in Kingston and working as the County Commissioner for four years. He served on the Kingston School Board for several years, Texoma Bank board, BancFirst board and the Civil Service board. Wayne was a member of the Optimists Club, a MASON and an honorary member of the WWII 315th 79th Infantry Division. Wayne was affiliated with the Pentecostal Faith, and he enjoyed teaching Sunday school. He enjoyed hunting, singing and playing his guitar.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Scribner of Kingston, Okla.; children: Dale Scribner and wife Tam of Kingston, Okla., Susan Spickett and husband Michael of Ardmore, Okla., Sonseeahra Beasley of Kingston, Okla., Elizabeth Cunningham and husband Ron Dean of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren: Dallas Scribner and wife Kaley, Rachel Scribner, Jared Wanzer, Sean Wanzer, Hillary Cunningham and Brock Cunningham; great-grandchild, Holland Bell Scribner; siblings: Sherry Owens and husband Troy of Oklahoma City, Okla., Kelsey Scribner and wife Lana of Willis, Okla., Anne Lasiter and husband Robbie of Kingston, Okla.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Dora Gaye Scribner.
Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 22, 2021 at the Watts Funeral Home in Kingston, Okla. at
2 p.m.. Kent Jensen will officiate the service. Interment will be at the Powell Cemetery, Powell,
Oklahoma.
Services under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Oklahoma.
