Alvaree Adair was a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister during her 85 years of life. She passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on Friday, December 29, 2023. Alvaree was born March 9, 1938, in Madill, Okla. to Oscar and Alvaree Watson.
She married her teenage sweetheart Joseph Louis Adair, Sr. on March 23, 1957, after which their first child Stanley Wade was born. The family moved to Kansas in 1958 where Alvaree gave birth to two sons, Rev. Joseph Louis Jr. in 1958 and Ronald Ray in 1959. In 1961, Alvaree gave birth to her fourth son, Kevin Wayne. Later that year, the family moved to Elizabeth, NJ for better opportunities for their growing family. In 1964, their fifth child Lisa Ann was born, two years later Joe and Alvaree became the owner/operators of Club Supreme. The following year, Alvaree gave birth to their sixth and final child Michael Steven. In 1978 they started Joe Adair and Sons Limousine Service. After 38 years of marriage, Alvaree and Joe parted ways.
In 1994, Alvaree returned to her place of birth, Madill, Okla., so she could be closer to her sisters and brothers. Alvaree lived the remainder of her life a devoted member of Cornerstone Church of God in Christ. Her greatest joy in life was raising her children and being a major part of her grandchildren’s’ lives. Alvaree was the matriarch of the Adair family, and she will truly be missed.
Alvaree was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Alvaree Watson; ex-husband, Joseph Louis Adair, Sr.; sons, Stanley Wade Adair and Rev. Joseph Louis Adair, Jr.; sisters, Genevieve Williams and Betty Watson; brothers, Orlando, Arthur Wade, Solon, AJ, William, and Oscar Watson, Jr.
Alvaree leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Ronald Adair, Kevin Adair wife Heidi, Michael Adair and her daughter Lisa Gray; sisters, Helen Gordon husband Isaiah, Estina Seals, and Patricia Fields; brothers, Trenton Watson and Donny Ray Watson; as well as 22 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
