MARSHALL COUNTY – A motorcycle accident resulted in an air evacuation on Saturday afternoon.
Gregory Bass, 56, of Irving, Texas, was driving a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on U.S. Highway 177 approximately 2 miles west of Madill at about 2:48 p.m., according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. He stated to the OHP that the brakes locked up causing the motorcycle to lay over. The vehicle slid approximately 60 feet
Bass was transported by Marshall County EMS to Mercy Hospital of Ardmore in Ardmore. He was later transported by Air Evac to Medical City Denton in Denton, Texas, where he was admitted in stable condition with trunk internal and head injuries.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Bass was not wearing a helmet according to the report.
The OHP was assisted in the investigation by the Madill Fire Department and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.
