Patricia (Patsy) Ann Kelley Harshman, 78, of Madill, Okla., was born December 19, 1943, in Denver, Colo., and went to rest in Heaven on Wednesday, December 8, 2022, in Durant, Okla.
Patsy was raised in Oklahoma and attended Healdton High School. She had many siblings, cousins, and friends. She enjoyed many adventures in her childhood. The stories she told were amazing and her childhood made her strong and resilient. She lived in many states around the country and made lifelong friends in every place she lived.
Patsy met her husband Bill Harshman in California while at a dance. They were married in his home state of Nebraska. They loved to dance together, especially to Patsy Cline, and many times entertained the family with their dancing. She was very proud of her Chickasaw Indian Heritage, and always considered Oklahoma home.
During her life, she worked as a school bus driver, worked on farms and ranches, drove tractors, and fed cattle. She also worked as an office manager at various companies. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it. One of her favorite places to help people was at churches. She was a Sunday school teacher at many of the churches she attended throughout her life.
She truly believed in the Lord and the Bible and shared that faith and passion with everyone she met. Her hobbies and loves included dancing, gardening, knitting, and cooking. She was always ready to put on a feast for whoever wanted to come and eat. She was a terrific wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt.
Patsy is survived by her son, James B. Harshman and his wife Rohani of Lytle, Texas; grandchildren: Eva Burley and husband Rich of Bossier City, La., Adam Harshman and his wife Milandri of Sugarland, Texas and Johann Harshman of Denver, Colo.; great-grandsons: Easton and Chase Burley; brothers, Ben Kelley and wife Sharon of Falconhead, Okla., Dusty Kelley and wife Jerri of Falconhead, Okla.; sisters, Betty Goff of Madill, Okla. and Jody Kelley and wife Shelly of Killeen, Texas; niece, Mariah Rhodes and great-grand-nephew, Canyon Phillips; great-grand-nieces, Layla Philips, Kairi Burnet, along with many nieces and nephews whom she loved so dearly.
Patsy is preceded in death by son, Brian E. Harshman; husband, Bill Harshman; brother, Jimmy Kelley and sister, Mary L. Cole.
Patsy will be missed as a person who brought joy to so many and will never be forgotten. She was truly one of a kind.
