Mary Ann Saxon, 78, of Madill, Okla., passed away on May 24, 2022, at the Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. She was born on February 7, 1944, in Chickasha, Okla., to the late Rev. Edwin M. Walker and Lona Bessie Hambleton Walker.
Mary Ann grew up in several different communities throughout Oklahoma due to her father being a Methodist Preacher. She graduated from Madill High School in 1962 and married J. A. Saxon on August 25, 1962, in Idabel, Okla. Mary Ann worked as the Methodist Church Secretary in Madill for over 32 years retiring in 2005. She was an active member of the church and always enjoyed working and helping with the bazaar. She loved cooking, sewing, and turning out the calves in the roping pen for J. A., Wes and Julie. Her greatest joy was her grandkids and going to their events.
She is survived by her husband, J. A. Saxon of Madill, Okla.; children: Julie Barrick of Ardmore, Okla., Wes Saxon and wife Samantha of Madill, Okla.; grandchildren:Mathew Saxon, Emma Saxon and fiancé Jayson Queen, Jesse Saxon and Maggie Saxon, Trenton Barrick and wife Payton, Emily Birch, and husband Jarrin; great-grandchild, Ruby Birch.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, John and Bill Walker.
Casket Bearers: Mathew Saxon, Jesse Saxon, Trenton Barrick, Vince Howie, Marc Howie, and Dusty Davis. Honorary Bearers: Dan Harris, Richard Stowers and Jimmy Thompson.
