Wanda Jean Sandefur, 71, passed away Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022 at her home in Marietta, Okla., surrounded by loved ones. She was born May 25, 1950 in Marietta, Okla., to the late Denzil Greenwood and Imogene McAnally Greenwood.
Wanda was raised in Marietta and graduated from Marietta High School in 1968. She attained an Associate of Science degree in Business in 1998. Wanda managed a gun and pawn shop, veterinary medicine and supply, Oklahoma tourism center, and a dog breeding company. She was a member of New Beginnings Church in Madill, Okla., where she helped teach children and donated many hours to painting wall murals.
Wanda was a loving wife and mother who had a quiet, gentle nature, and was an exceptional listener who gave sound advice. With a smile that warmed the heart, she loved with kindness and patience while encouraging her family and all she met. Wanda was actively involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren and enjoyed playing games with them, going to great lengths to attend as many events as she was able. She was an avid reader and life-long learner and also enjoyed birds, jewelry, knick-knacks, and computer games. Wanda was a talented artist and oil painter for over 50 years and especially loved landscapes and portraiture. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jimmy Greenwood.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Tim Sandefur of Marietta; son, Ricky Beavers and wife Sheila of Katy, Texas; two daughters, Melany Williams and husband Travis of Madill, Okla., and Amber Beavers Story of Marietta, Okla.; sister, Lila Ann Epperson of Marietta, Okla.; two brothers, John Greenwood and wife Margorie and Ray Greenwood and wife Shelia all of Marietta, Okla.; sister-in-law, Martha Greenwood of Marietta; six grandchildren, Nathan Williams, Makayla Williams, Ian Beavers, Joshua Beavers, Gavin Beavers and Jeremiah Beavers; many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
Memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022 at New Beginnings Church in Madill, Okla.
