James Sherrone Williams, 79, of Lebanon, Okla. passed away on December 24, 2021 at the Mercy Hospital in Marietta, Okla. James was born in Duncan, Okla. to the late Marshal James Williams and Mary Juanita Cooley Williams.
He was raised in Duncan where he graduated high school in 1961. James attended Vo-tech school in Okmulgee, Okla. and worked at a body shop. James later worked as a truck driver. He married Doris Louise Quaid on August 30, 1971 in Comanche, Okla. and she preceded him in death on October 25, 2014. James was affiliated with the Baptist faith, and he enjoyed playing poker, dominoes and going fishing.
He is survived by children: Marc Williams and wife Stacy of Tennessee, Melissa Rothrock and husband Thad of Maryland, Mike Metha and wife Carmon of Duncan, Okla.; seven grandchildren; seven grear-grandchildren; sisters: Carolyn Smith of Lebanon, Okla., Patricia Ruth of Lebanon, Okla.
James was preceded in death by his parents, and stepdaughter, Sally Alridge.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on January 3, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in Lebanon, Okla. Roy Vinson will officiate the service. Interment will be at the Lebanon Cemetery in Lebanon, Okla.
Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Oklahoma.
